Abbotsford Christian School, located in the Fraser Valley, is a well -established interdenominational school of 900 students in three campuses: Elementary (Pre-K - Grade 5), Middle (6-8) and Secondary (9-12).

Project Based Learning (PBL) Residency Director

The governing team for the PBL Residency program is seeking a Director for a five day Project Based Learning teacher training program that will be held at Abbotsford Christian School on August 24-28, 2015.  The goal of the residency is to challenge teaching professionals to re-imagine educational practices in Christian schools.  Participants will explore design principles of project based learning and will be guided through the process of developing their own project based learning pedagogies to promote deeper learning.

We seek a director with strong organizational skills, a significant knowledge of Project Based Learning, leadership gifts and the ability to bring multiple programs and teams together around a common purpose.  The director will be involved with coordinating, supervising and leading several teams as well as being heavily involved during the week of learning.  The director will supervise and direct the following teams and areas:

  • Technology
  • Food Services
  • Travel and Accommodation
  • Coaching Team
  • Registration, Publications
  • Finance
  • MC for the week

The director reports to the PBL Residency Governing Team with the position commencing January 15, 2015 and completing on September 30, 2015.

Educational Assistant - Urgent

Elementary Campus - English Language Learner Instructor

Closing date: Friday, December 12, 2014

Abbotsford Christian School is accepting applications for a part-time (about 50% over three days depending on student enrolment) ELL Instructor in our International Department for the remaining 2015 school year. Applicants will be working with International students to provide support in the classroom as well as teaching afterschool classes twice a week. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate with classroom teachers, students and parents and work well in a team environment. In addition, applicants must be flexible and willing to work independently. TESOL certification/degree and previous ELL teaching experience is highly recommended.
