Job Summary: Reporting to the Principal, the Learning Leader is an integral part of the leadership team for the school. The Learning Leader supports that Principal in educational leadership and administrative duties. Learning Leader administrative time is based on the number of students within a school division (Elementary School, Middle School, High School).
Qualifications: ● Strong leadership, organization, communication and interpersonal skills ● BC Certified teacher ● Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, or equivalent, or continued post-graduate education ● Positive Christian role model
- Assist the Principal in educational leadership: a. Coach teaching staff through regular meetings and maintain individual growth plans with teachers b. Collaborate with the administrative team to review and implement the Learning Improvement Plan (based on the Strategic Plan) c. Plan and implement an annual program of professional development in collaboration with the administrative team d. Collaborate with the administrative team and the Educational Support Services coordinators to plan a team-based response to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs e. Lead regular staff meetings with division teachers (Elementary School, Middle School, High School) f. Oversee planning for weekly student chapels and student events g. Collaborate with the administrative team to develop and implement restorative practices and discipling of students.
- Assist the Principal in administrative duties: a. Interview and recommend teachers for employment b. Plan student supervision schedules c. Collaborate as an administrative team to plan schedules for shared spaces (gym, theatre, music room) and shared teaching staff d. Ensure that students are meeting graduation requirements e. Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure that funding is appropriately allocated to support programs with curriculum resources and equipment
- Attend and participate in administrative, staff, and other school meetings as required
