Langley Christian Elementary School is seeking applications for an enthusiastic, committed, visionary, educational leader with a heart for children and a passion for Christian education, beginning August 15, 2018. The successful candidate will work closely with the principal and assistant principal on a campus administrative team that serves over 500 students from Preschool through to Grade Five. S/He will possess the ability to collaboratively lead and nurture a dedicated, mature and flexible teaching and support staff of approximately 60 members, as well as effectively engage with parents and the larger LCS Community.

The successful candidate will give evidence of the following criteria in his/her documentation and interview:

Required:

  • Proof of BC teaching certification (or the ability to hold such a certification)
  • Familiarity with Independent Schools in British Columbia

Preferred:

  • Five years of teaching experience at a kindergarten – grade five level
  • Understanding of best practices related to Preschool to Grade Five in curriculum, instruction, assessment and technology
  • Experience and willingness to work collaboratively with a campus leadership team that includes a new principal and a continuing assistant principal
  • Experience and willingness to work collaboratively with a cross-campus leadership team in  a wide variety of areas and situations
  • A deep understanding of the developmental needs of children between the ages of three and eleven

The successful applicant will have a .65 teaching assignment. Administrative tasks may include responsibilities such as:
