Langley Christian School is currently seeking a Director of Advancement to oversee our donor relations program and manage our fundraising initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our school’s fundraising campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and building a strong advancement team for our organization. This position involves managing individual and corporate gifts as well as planned and annual giving campaigns. Director of Advancement responsibilities and duties

  • Report directly to the Superintendent
  • Partners with the Superintendent in donor cultivation
  • Maintains effective working relationships with LCS’s leadership teams
  • Facilitates Board member involvement in fund development programs, including major gifts, planned giving and capital projects
  • Participates with the Board and the Superintendent in formulating organizational fundraising policies and long-range development goals
  • Participates on board forums as requested
  • Participates in the LCS Foundation
  • Develop and oversee annual Advancement plan, including marketing & fundraising program
  • Cultivate a culture of giving amongst current families
  • Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships
  • Maintain ongoing communications with private and corporate donors
  • Research donor relation programs and explore avenues of revenue
  • Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders
  • Collaborate/coordinate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions
  • Develop print marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with our Marketing department
  • Coordinates Major Fund Development Initiatives: LCS Annual Fund and Capital Campaigns
  • Oversee the work of the Advancement Asst, Marketing Coordinator, Community Engagement Coordinator and Events Coordinator
  • Special projects as other duties as required by the LCS Superintendent

Director of Advancement qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in community relations,marketing or fundraising
  • Clear understanding of aims and purposes of Christian education
  • Strategic leadership ability and highly relational
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities,
  • Marketing experience, training or understanding
  • Fundraising experience in a larges school or non-profit setting
  • Strong team player
  • Minimum 5 years of successful fundraising experience
  • Foundation relationship experience
  • Familiarity with donation/alumni tracking programs

  • Passionate belief in the Mission, Vision and Values of Langley Christian School
