The ideal candidate possesses:

  • a Master’s Degree or working on a Master’s degree in a related field
  • an awareness of the Fort McMurray Christian School’s Vision Document and Mission Statement and could actively support both
  • an ability to work with teachers to integrate a Christian worldview in an Alternative program as outlined by the Mission and Vision of the Fort McMurray Alternative Program
  • has experience as a teacher or administrator in an alternative or faith-based program or school
  • the ability to integrate Christian faith and learning
  • the passion to promote faith-based programming which would lead to student enrollment growth
  • proven leadership ability and excellent teaching skills
  • demonstrated evidence of a student centered philosophy
  • an ability and commitment to work as a member of a team in a collaborative work environment
  • the skills necessary to work with all stakeholders in a faith-based environment
  • strong knowledge of inclusion strategies and the supports required for Special Needs students
  • strong technology skills and is able to integrate technology and faith-based programming
  • the relationship skills to further develop community partnerships
  • an ability to establish productive relationships with parents and the appropriate community
  • a commitment to assessment for learning and high results
  • a commitment to continuous professional growth
  • strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • the commitment to serve the school and the division for a minimum of three to five years
