John Knox Christian School(JKCS), located in Burnaby & New Westminster, is a K-12 school that is experiencing rapid growth as we opened Gr 8-12 in the fall of 2018 (temporary location) and will be opening a new secondary campus for the 2019-2020 school year.  Our community is focused on academic excellence while being grounded in a Biblical Christian perspective.

JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Business Manager, is responsible for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as well as other duties to be assigned according to skills and experience. The successful candidate will possess strong data entry skills with attention to detail as well as a basic understanding of bookkeeping functions and reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts receivable work of invoicing families, recording cheque and PAD payments and tracking NSF transactions
  • Accounts payable will include coding entries accurately to GL accounts, data entry of vendor bills and processing cheque payments once approved
  • Numerous opportunities to showcase data management and Excel design skills as we adapt to servicing a larger student and staff population

Other duties will be assigned as required.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Sage 50 an asset but not a requirement
  • 2+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Intermediate Word & Advanced Excel skills
  • Is a committed Christian in full agreement and support with the school’s constitution and statement of faith

Salary: In line with SCSBC compensation guidelines, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Start date: Opening available immediately but flexible to accommodate the required transition period.

Full Time Equivalent: 0.60- 1.0 FTE.  Open to discussing additional duties to fill a full-time role for the right candidate.
