    Head of School – Kelowna Christian School, Kelowna, BC

    Kelowna Christian School (KCS) is an Independent Christian school located in Kelowna, British Columbia offering programming from pre-school to Grade 12 across three different campuses, with enrolment of approximately 850 students. We seek to be a Christ-like community passionately transforming our world. KCS exists to educate, equip and inspire our school community to become disciples of Jesus who love and serve God and others. 

     

    Position Overview

    Kelowna Christian School is searching for a visionary and spiritually grounded leader to assume the role of Head of School. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for Christian education, embodying and advancing the mission, vision, and core values of KCS. This role involves strategic leadership, community engagement, academic oversight, and spiritual direction, with a focus on fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and academic excellence. 

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Leadership and Vision Serve as the lead spokesperson, embodying the school’s mission and values. Develop and articulate a compelling vision for the school, ensuring strategic growth and development.
    • Community Engagement Strengthen relationships with parents, students, staff, and the wider community. Engage actively with stakeholders and represent the school positively in various forums.
    • Academic Excellence Oversee curriculum development and ensure alignment with academic standards and the school’s mission. Support faculty excellence and monitor student academic achievement.
    • Spiritual Leadership Set the spiritual tone, provide pastoral leadership, and integrate faith into all school aspects.
    • Administrative Oversight Manage operations across all three campuses, primarily through supervision and support of Senior Leadership Team. Including day to day operations, budgeting, financial management, staff development, and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Strategic Planning Collaborate with the Board of Directors for long-term strategic planning, identifying growth opportunities.
    • Advancement Responsibilities Admissions, marketing and communications, and development.

     

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in education or a related field. 
    • Demonstrated leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably at a senior level. 
    • Strong commitment to the Christian faith and its integration into education. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
    • Strategic thinker with a track record of organizational leadership. 
    • Ability to qualify for a British Columbia Teacher Certificate of Qualification (COQ). 
    • Experience or understanding of diverse educational programs and curricula. 
    • Willingness to fully commit to KCS’s mission, vision, values, and statement of faith.
