Surrey Christian School is seeking an assistant to the director of Information Technology (IT asst.).  The position commences September, 2018 and is a full time, continuing contract position. Successful candidates will be able to work with students and teachers and have the following responsibilities:

  • Able to resolve IT issues on Windows/MAC OS/iOS environment
  • Able to demonstrate competitive PC hardware knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Able to understand basic networking concepts and to diagnose and troubleshoot minor networking issues (ex: LAN and WIFI Access)
  • Has familiarity and experience working on Servers (Active Directory, DHCP, Print Management), Virtual Environments (VMWare/Hyper-V), Cloud services, Storage and Backup technologies.
  • Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot Windows-based softwares
  • Experience using and configuring Office 365
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working on network switches and Firewalls such as Meraki

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Post-Secondary Education on Network/System Admin or equivalent
  • IT certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certifications
  • flexibility to meet changing work needs and demands
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering
  • Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle
