Abbotsford Christian School, located in the Fraser Valley, is a well-established interdenominational school of 1200 students in three campuses: Elementary (preschool – grade 4), Middle (4-8) and Secondary (9-12).

KINDERGARTEN TEACHER – PART-TIME

Abbotsford Christian School is currently accepting applications for a part-time KINDERGARTEN TEACHER for the 2021/22 school year. This position is salaried, with a possible range of 0.5-0.7 FTE and commencing September 1, 2021.

The applicant must:

• Have a clear understanding of Christian Education
• Practice and demonstrate evidence of a strong commitment to the Christian faith
• Hold, or be eligible for, a valid BC Teaching Certificate and meet the requirements of the ACS Employment of Teachers Contract
• Practice strong collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team
• Be able to confidently teach all subjects in a primary classroom

The ideal applicant would have the following characteristics:

• Friendly, even-tempered, and a servant-hearted attitude toward staff, parents, and students
• Deep and disciplined understanding of the Christian worldview
• Relational, adaptable, professional, confident, and optimistic
• Experience with Project Based Learning, Deeper Learning and/or Inquiry-Based Learning
• Strong interest and competence with integrating educational technology in a primary classroom
• Knowledge of and familiarity with implementing play-based learning pedagogy
