Kamloops Christian School invites applications for a part-time position as a Middle/High School (Grade 6-12) Learning Assistance Teacher (LAT). The successful applicant will join a vibrant staff with opportunities for collaboration and professional development. Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate allowing them to teach in British Columbia. Successful Candidates will participate in an interview process. Our anticipated start date is August 26.

Working as part of our Educational Support Services team, the Learning Assistance Teacher will be responsible for coordinating the development and supporting the implementation of Learning Support Plans for students receiving learning assistance services in grades 6-12. The LAT will provide direct intervention to individual students and small groups, as well as support classroom teachers to meet students’ needs within the classroom.


  • Teaching Certification (BC College of Teachers) or Independent School Certification (ISC).

Highly desirable qualifications

  • Training and/or experience as a learning assistance teacher
  • Training and/or experience with literacy and numeracy intervention
  • Training and/or experience in the use of Quality Assessment practices
  • Certified in Level B assessment
  • Knowledge of Google’s Educational Suite
  • Experience collaborating with other teachers and staff

Pay Band: According to KCSA’s pay scale. The amount is based on years of experience. KCS does have Cat 5+ and Masters pay scales as well. To learn more about KCS, please visit our website (www.kamcs.org).
