LCMS is hiring a grade 7 homeroom teacher. We are currently seeking candidates with a strong focus in Biblical Studies, Geography, Environmental Studies and Sports Management to round out our grade 7 team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Evidence of involvement in a local Christian faith community
  • Four years (120 credits) of post-secondary studies and a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); masters degree is an asset but not a requirement
  • Eligible for B.C. teacher certification or independent school certification; Biblical Studies Certificate
  • Strong professional references
  • Strong leadership skills particularly in the areas of curriculum development and planning, integrative practices and strategic development
  • Strong understanding of holistic development through social emotional learning, special education and inclusive practices
  • Strong assessment and instructional practices
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, inclusive work environment
  • Evidence of courage, integrity, transparency and honesty in relationships
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal communication
  • Adept at integrating technology into the classroom
  • Understanding of the role that cultural and sport experiences can play in the development of adolescents as well as a passion for and experience working with middle school aged learners
  • Independent school experience is an asset
