John Knox Christian Secondary School is located in the heart of the lower mainland of British Columbia, in New Westminster within view of the Fraser River. Our beautiful secondary campus was built in 2018 as an extension of our Elementary program that has a long history of high quality Christian education. We are a vibrant K-12 community of educators who joyfully support each other. We seek to authentically disciple our students, and help them grow in their God given gifts, abilities, and passions.

We are in a period of growth and are looking to expand our administrative team at the secondary school by adding an Assistant Principal. This full-time continuing position will focus on, but not be limited to, our senior grades 10 through 12 and will involve a mix of teaching and administrative responsibilities appropriate to the strengths of the selected candidate. Applicants with a passion and vision for transformational Christian education are invited to apply.

Applicant requirements:

• Committed Christian
• Passion and vision for transformational Christian Education
• BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for BC certification)
• Knowledge and practice with current BC Curriculum and 21st Century teaching practices
• Master’s degree in Education or Theology (or in progress)

Preference will be given to applicants with:

• Leadership experience
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Relational approaches to teaching and leadership
• Experience supporting senior secondary students in grad transitions and missions/outreach
•  Ability to effectively and positively engage with students, parents, and staff with a diversity of perspectives
• Senior sciences or Christian studies teaching experience would be an asset
