Secondary Teachers

John Knox Christian Secondary School is located in New Westminster, in the heart of the lower mainland of British Columbia, within view of the Fraser River. Our beautiful secondary campus was built in 2019 as an extension of our Elementary program, which has a long history of high-quality Christian education. We are a vibrant K-12 community of educators who joyfully support each other. We seek to authentically disciple our students and help them grow in their God-given gifts, abilities, and passions.

We are in a period of growth and are looking to expand our teaching team at the secondary school. We have full-time and part-time positions available. Teaching portfolios are developed based on the expertise of candidates and our current teaching team and could include Christian Studies, Science & Math, Humanities, Languages (Spanish or French) and PHE. The full-time annual salary for these positions would range from $ 55,600 to $ 96,000, depending on qualifications and experience.  Applicant requirements:

• Committed Christian
• Passion and vision for transformational Christian Education
• BC Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for BC certification)
• Knowledge and practice with current BC Curriculum and 21st-century teaching practices

Preference will be given to applicants with:

• Experience teaching in a Christian school
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Relational approaches to teaching 
•  Ability to effectively and positively engage with students, parents, and staff with a diversity of perspectives
• Passion and experience coaching youth sports
