Youth and Family Worker / Indigenous Support Worker – Secondary School

Pacific Christian School seeks a Youth and Family Worker for a maternity leave replacement with a preferred starting date of April 5, 2018.  This is a 37.5 hours/week position working as part of the Student Services team under the direction of the Special Education Coordinator.

The Youth and Family worker serves as a consultant to staff, students, parents and members of community agencies.  The chosen applicant will provide assessment, case planning and intervention for students at risk or experiencing social, emotional, mental or behavioral challenges.

Preferred qualifications are:

  •  A degree in Child and Youth Care or a related field
  •  Specific training related to students with behaviour/emotional challenges
  •  Related experience in a school setting
  •  Training/experience with children/youth who have experienced abuse and or neglect
  •  Training/experience working with indigenous children/youth
  •  Valid BC Driver’s License
  •  Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training
  •  PEERS Training (an asset)
