The SCSBC would like to extend an invitation to attend a day of professional development and discussion round tables on Friday, November 1 – one day before the SCSBC Leadership Conference.
The purpose of this day will be to spend time together exploring concepts and issues uniquely associated with your role in a Christian school setting. Development Schedule:

10:15 – 11:45 • Donor-Centered Writing: Using story to build meaningful connection with donors
For your donors, giving is always personal. This means donors have a need for meaningful connection with the charities they care about. One of the most effective ways to build that connection is to share stories with our donors that matter to them. The words we choose when crafting solicitations, thank you letters, reports and newsletters are important. Donor-centered writing powerfully connects our donors to their impact. In this session, you will learn how to create donor-centered communications that position the donor as the hero – from the photo caption to the headline to the story. When you make this shift, your donors will give more and forge a lasting commitment to your organization.
Learning Outcomes:
• Explore the reasons why donors stop giving and the impact donor-centered writing can have on your retention rate and bottom line
• Learn the 4 pillars of strong donor-centered writing with examples and opportunities to practice
• Review tips and tricks that will take your donor-centered writing to the next level
11:45 – 12:00 • Brainstorm Roundtable Topics
12:00 – 1:00 • Lunch
1:00 – 2:00 • Roundtable group discussion
