    Pacific Christian School (PCS), a thriving Preschool-to-Grade 12 Christian school with over 800 students, invites applications for the position of Community Storyteller. This new, part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to creatively share the heart of PCS by improving our ability to tell the story of who we are and what God is doing in our community.

    Over time, the role has the potential to expand into broader communications responsibilities as PCS continues to grow and refine this area of work.

    This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an informal, relational environment, is skilled in storytelling, and is passionate about connecting people through authentic, Christ-centred communication.     The Role

    As Community Storyteller, you will:

    • Capture and share compelling PCS stories through written, visual, and digital media, highlighting the exciting learning experiences and Christ-centred education at PCS with creativity and authenticity.
    • Manage and grow PCS’s social media presence, ensuring alignment with the school’s Guiding Educational Principles.
    • Explore opportunities to expand the role into broader communications responsibilities, including storytelling through additional channels.
    • Build meaningful connections with the PCS community, fostering engagement and strengthening relationships through creative storytelling.

     

    Qualifications and Competencies

    As Community Storyteller, you will:

    • Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, actively living out your faith in personal and professional life.
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of and alignment with PCS’s mission, values, and Guiding Educational Principles.
    • Be able to tell compelling stories through written, visual, and digital media, bringing creativity and authenticity to your work.
    • Manage social media platforms effectively, utilizing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, Premier) to enhance storytelling.
    • Collaborate with staff, students, and families, building meaningful connections to amplify PCS’s story.
    • Approach your work with exceptional creativity, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
    • Be adaptable and mission-focused, with a passion for connecting people through Christ-centred communication.

     

    What We Offer

    • A supportive, Christ-centred school community.

    • The wage will be based on the SCSBC Compensation Booklet recommendations – currently $30.75/hr. plus vacation time.
    • It is expected that the work will take about 15-20 hours per week.
