Full-time Education Assistants
For the 2026/27 school year and beyond, Pacific Christian Secondary School is seeking Education Assistants who are passionate about walking alongside students – guiding their learning, sparking curiosity, and nurturing their formation. JOB DESCRIPTION
Education Assistants work as team members with teachers and student services staff to assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including the provision of universal learning supports, individualized strategies, and one-to-one support for students, ages 12–19 (grades 8–12).
Specific tasks:
- With direction from Learning Support Services coordinators, counsellors, and teachers, implement strategies and provide supports as outlined in Individual Education Plans.
- Provide academic, social, and emotional support for students, which may include note-taking, reading or scribing for students, providing co-regulation, or performing personal care.
- Provide individualized or small-group support to students within the classroom and/or in alternative settings, ensuring the least disruptive environment for both the student and their peers.
- Regularly collaborate and communicate with teachers, counsellors, coordinators, and other support personnel to help students meet their goals, maintain safety, and demonstrate their learning.
- Follow documentation protocols for data collection in a timely manner.
- Employ effective verbal, non-verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and understand confidentiality.
- Be self-regulated within the school environment in order to help co-regulate students.
- Participate in school-based team meetings, staff training, professional development activities, and staff meetings as requested.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Ability to effectively support students with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries, with adults and youth
- Previous experience working in a learning environment with children and/or youth with disabilities, learning difficulties, ADHD, and/or mental health challenges
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- The preferred candidate will have completed an Education Assistant EA Certification OR have completed a recognized Post-Secondary Inclusive Education Assistant program, or a Degree/Diploma in a related field, and/or extensive experience in an equivalent field.
- Knowledge of and comfort with supporting students with math and science course work at the grade 11 – 12 level, including Chemistry, Physics, and Pre Calculus.
- Applicants must have an active Christian faith that shapes their life.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This posting is for a one-year position, with the possibility of extension or transfer to other student support roles.

- End date: June 29, 2027
- Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 3:15 pm
- The salary for this position is based on education and experience. PCS EA Salary Grid 2025/26 (an increase is anticipated for the 2026/27 school year)
