    Abbotsford Christian School, located in the Fraser Valley, is a well-established interdenominational school of 1320 students in three campuses: Elementary (preschool – grade 4), Middle (5-8), and Secondary (9-12).

    Abbotsford Christian Secondary School is accepting applications for a HUMANITIES (SOCIAL STUDIES) TEACHER for the 2024-25 school year. This position is full-time, salaried, and begins September 1, 2024.

    This position currently has a focus on social studies courses, however depending on the applicant’s experience and qualifications teaching load may be adjusted for the 2024-2025 school year.     We provide a rich diversity of courses in our social studies and English departments. Some of our course offerings have been Social Studies 10, Social Justice 12, 20th Century World History 12, Comparative Cultures 12, Contemporary Indigenous Studies 12, and Genocide Studies 12. We also have a wide array of English Language Arts courses and offer Psychology 12. Our school also has a well-established Model United Nations Team, and we host an annual Model UN Conference each year. We would welcome applications from qualified educators who would like to join our experienced humanities department.

    Candidates must be able to demonstrate an exemplary ability to build strong relationships with students in a discipling capacity.     Specific qualifications include:

    • BA Degree in Education (or equivalent) with a specialty
    • BC Teaching Certificate
    • Extracurricular experience
    • Clear understanding of Christian Education

    The ideal applicant must:

    • Demonstrate evidence of a deep and disciplined understanding of the Christian worldview
    • Articulate a clear and compelling vision for a 21st century social studies program
    • Have the ability to build report with students
    • Have a reputation for being an excellent educator and model servant leadership
    • Have experience with Project-Based Learning or Deeper Learning Pedagogies
    • Demonstrate a willingness to work in a team environment in a progressive and creative school
    • Be able to work professionally and confidently with the ability to adapt to situations as needs arise
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn

    The salary range for this position is $56,000 – $94,000 and is dependent on an applicant’s qualifications and experiences.
