    2026/27 Learning Support Services Coordinator (1.0 FTE)

    Valley Christian School is K-8 independent school located in Mission, BC. We have approximately 150 students. We are currently accepting applications for a Learning Support Services Coordinator. This is a full-time position commencing August 27, 2026.

    The Learning Support Services Coordinator (Inclusive Education & Learning Assistance) is responsible for the development of student learning plans and individualized education plans as well as determining the appropriate supports needed to meet student learning needs. The coordinator oversees the scheduling of the team of Education Assistants. The coordinator is supervised by the principal and collaborates with teachers and Educational Assistants in development and implementation of educational plans.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor of Education degree (or equivalent)
    • Hold, or be eligible for, a valid BC Teaching Certificate

     

     Preferred Qualifications:

    • University course work in the following areas:
      • Credentials in inclusive education
    • In addition, courses in the following areas are recommended:
      • Meeting the needs of students with specific exceptions (i.e., Autism, developmental delays, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), etc.)
      • Meeting the diverse behavioural needs in the classroom
      • Computer technology for the classroom
      • Non-violent de-escalation training

     

     The applicant must:

    • Be deeply committed to the Christian faith, with a strong dedication to Christian education
    • Demonstrate active involvement in a local Christian community.
    • Exhibit a mature Christian faith
    • Be willing to sign the Community Standards policy of the school, reflecting their alignment with its values
    • Practice strong collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team
    • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Establish positive working relationships with school staff, community partners, families, and children
    • Be able to confidently lead and support staff
    • With colleagues, plan and maintain a learning environment that promotes the health, security, and well-being of children
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn

     

    Salary Range: $52,787 to $88,237

    Start Date: August 27, 2026
