Middle/High School French Teacher

Middle/High School Teaching Position: French  *Maternity Leave     

Salary Range: $55,356 – $97,006 based on 1.0 FTE (dependent on education/certificate and experience)

Duncan Christian School is located on beautiful Vancouver Island. As we secure present assignments, we invite applications for the following anticipated middle/high school maternity leave teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Middle/High School French Teacher (Approx. 0.5 FTE)

This part-time position designates the successful candidate as the secondary campus French teacher. French Grades 8-10 and 11. 

There is potential to combine this position with other openings to create a larger FTE.

Successful candidates will:

• Have an understanding of Christian Education
• Practice and demonstrate evidence of a strong commitment to the Christian faith
• Hold, or be eligible for, a valid BC Teaching Certificate or Independent Schools Teaching Certificate and meet the requirements of the DCS Employment of Teaching Contract
• Experience with the AIM program or willingness to train
• Practice strong collaboration skills and enjoy working as part of  a team 
• Explore a variety of learning approaches
• Carry an understanding of and encourage the practice of current pedagogy
• Demonstrate  an interest in the development of learning beyond the walls of the classroom

DCS hosts over 500 PreK-12 students, including Indigenous students from the Cowichan Tribes.
