GlowBright International School is searching for a Senior School Principal.

Reporting to the Head of School, the Senior School Principal provides visionary and effective leadership for the academic and pastoral programs of the Middle and Senior Schools. The Principal is responsible for ensuring excellence in teaching and learning, student wellbeing, curriculum implementation, and the professional growth of staff, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and Christ-centred learning community. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Senior School Principal works collaboratively with the Head of School, Primary School Principal, and other leaders to advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of GrowBright International School.

OUR STORY

Presently, JoyKids, a well-respected international preschool serving primarily expatriate children, from 18 months to 6 years of age, enjoys the privilege of operating at The Club, Bukit Utama, Selangor, Malaysia. With steadily increasing enrolment, the preschool is expected to outgrow its current premises and plans to relocate to a newly renovated facility in August 2027. Many parents have expressed a strong desire for their children to continue their education beyond JoyKids. In response to this need, GrowBright International School (GBIS) will open in August 2026, initially offering Kindergarten through Grade 2. The school plans to expand each year progressively to provide a complete Kindergarten to Grade 12 education within the next few years.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior School Principal is responsible for leading the Middle and Senior Schools academically, professionally, and pastorally. Key priorities include:

• Academic leadership: Ensure high-quality teaching and learning, lead curriculum development including IB MYP/DP, promote inquiry and student agency, and use assessment data to improve achievement.
• Staff leadership: Supervise, develop, and evaluate faculty while building a collaborative culture of professional growth, innovation, and wellbeing.
• Student wellbeing: Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and oversee behaviour, attendance, pastoral care, student leadership, character, and service learning.
• School leadership: Contribute to strategic planning, policies, school improvement, compliance, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Community engagement: Develop strong parent partnerships, support admissions and school events, represent the school professionally, and champion GrowBright’s mission and values.

The ideal candidate is a servant-oriented, collaborative, and strategic leader with strong experience in secondary-school academic leadership. They should have a solid understanding of curriculum, assessment, and effective teaching and learning practices. While prior experience with the International Baccalaureate (IB) is not required, the candidate should be willing to learn about, embrace, and support the IB philosophy and programmes.

The candidate should also demonstrate excellent communication and relationship-building skills, strong organizational ability, and a capacity for data-informed decision-making. Integrity, empathy, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential qualities.

The Senior School Principal will play a key role in preparing, developing, and establishing the academic programmes for Grades 6–12, helping to build a strong foundation for the Senior School’s academic direction and future growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree (or currently enrolled in a Master’s Program) and current teaching certification.
• 5 years of experience in secondary educational leadership, preferred.
