An opportunity exists for a dynamic, caring, and dedicated leader in the role of Principal at Medicine Hat Christian School.

Medicine Hat Christian School seeks a faith-based leader for the position of principal in a challenging and rewarding work environment. Medicine Hat Christian School is a K to 9 school. It serves approximately 225 students and is an alternative Christian education program within Medicine Hat Public School Division. The successful candidate will develop and promote the mission and vision of Medicine Hat Christian School which is to inspire spiritual, academic, and personal growth through Christ-centred learning and to raise up Christ-like leaders who use their gifts and abilities to impact their community.

Preference will be given to the candidate who can:

  • work collaboratively with the MHCS Society/Executive and society policies
  • foster and support a Christian Faith perspective in learning and relationships and is in agreement with the MHCS Statement of Faith
  • support teachers through educational innovation and differentiated instruction (including on-line) across subject and grade levels
  • leverage technology to support Bible and faith based learning in the school
  • support staff to ensure each student has a personal connection with the school
  • foster parent engagement in a family and community engaged school
  • demonstrate excellent time management, computer based skills and attention to detail in an administrative context
  • embrace and enhance student-centred professional practices that are guided by research supported and data informed professional learning
  • advocate for the students you serve, while seeking to play a role in leading the system for the benefit of all students in every school.

This position will start for the 2022-23 school year. Employees who wish to be considered for this position should review Policy 508: Administrative Appointments and Administrative Procedures 508 P 001 and 508 P 002.   A Masters Degree or currently enrolled in a Masters Program is required.
