Digital Technologies Teacher Back to Jobs

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Christian educator wishing to move to Perth, Western Australia to join our Secondary team in July 2022.

If you are an engaging, vibrant teacher with a passion for providing excellent Christian education, we want to hear from you.

About Rehoboth

As the first Christian parent-governed school in Western Australia, we are pioneers of distinctly Christian education. Our rich heritage stretches back almost sixty years; we have learned a fair bit in that time and are always seeking ways to improve and innovate.

Rehoboth exists to partner with families in their God-given task of nurturing and educating their children. You will be joining a team who really believe in their mission to lead students to think and live for the glory of God in every aspect of their lives.

About the Position

This is an ongoing position for a part-time Digital Technologies teacher. You will be based at our Kenwick Campus in Perth, Western Australia and report to our Secondary Principal.

You will have the opportunity to deliver exceptional learning programmes across fourteen periods of Years 7-10 Digital Technology each week. The role has the potential to grow into a full-time position in 2023 if the suitable applicant has experience to teach General Engineering Studies.

The College will assist the right candidate with immigration and relocation formalities.

What You Need to Succeed

Apart from the necessary qualifications, we look for people who are a great cultural fit. Rehoboth is a community of Christians – parents and staff alike – and we are all about supporting each other in our spiritual walks and encouraging students to explore their faith and discover their God-given gifts.

We take your active involvement in a local Protestant Christian church, a deeply committed Christian lifestyle, and ability to articulate your personal Christian faith as evidence of your desire to help build a vibrant Christian community at Rehoboth.

You will also need to be an exceptional communicator and have an outstanding ability to work collaboratively with staff and students. This is where your pastoral heart and passion for teaching will shine.

If you have previous experience in teaching Digital Technology and General Engineering Studies in a lower secondary school setting, this will be favourably considered as well.

Here are the essential criteria for the position:

Why Should You Move to Perth?

Perth, Western Australia (WA) is a small, but vibrant and multicultural city full of laid back, friendly people. The State has a population of just under three million, one tenth of Australia’s total population.

In Australia’s sunniest capital city, relaxation and adventure go hand in hand. There are plenty of outdoor activities, stunning beaches, parks, coffee shops, and great food to enjoy. Perth is fast becoming one of the most desirable places to live in the world.

World-standard cultural facilities and theatres are home to the State’s nationally acclaimed symphony orchestra, ballet, modern dance, opera, and theatre companies.

Residents and visitors also have access to numerous public and private galleries and museums, with major touring exhibitions supplementing local collections.

Perth is seen as unique among the world’s cities – perhaps it’s the friendly people, the easy-living Mediterranean climate, or the sprawling, safe, and easy to get around suburbs. Or maybe it’s just the fact that no matter where you live in Perth, you’re never far away from the ocean.

Perth’s bustling central business district is just seven kilometres from the coast – perched on the banks of the majestic Swan River and nestled beneath the city’s 400-hectare botanical showcase, Kings Park. A fifteen-minute drive to the east is the modern international and domestic airports, while 15 kilometres to the southwest is Fremantle, the closest major Australian port to Singapore.
