Director of Leadership / Director of External Relations Back to Jobs

You are a leader of leaders. You have something to bring to the Leadership Development portfolio of Edvance that will not only take Christian school leaders to their next level of potential and impact but will also help others understand the position and contribution of independent Christian schools within their local and provincial landscapes.

Edvance is a dynamic, not-for-profit industry association serving the growth and flourishing of Christian schools and their leaders—principals, boards, administrative staff, and educators—in Ontario and the eastern Canadian provinces.

Our professional and dedicated team is committed to fostering excellence in Christian elementary and secondary schools. And we believe that excellence in education depends on excellence in leadership. We’re globally connected but locally grounded and work closely with our growing number of affiliate members—which currently includes 88 schools.

As a leading voice in education, Edvance aspires to know, unite, equip, and uplift a growing, diverse, relational network of leaders and their teams who understand their own school’s identity, who are attentive to this cultural moment, and who seek to expand the impact of Christ-centred education.

Edvance’s mission includes knowing our school leaders, understanding the unique culture of each affiliate school, and, when invited, providing counsel and coaching. We proactively support our affiliates in maximizing their resources by facilitating their access to meaningful networks, educational events, innovative insights, and valuable services. We proactively support the independent school sector by reaching out to the broader educational landscape and finding ways to work together. We aim for our affiliate schools to be communities of high impact—for students and their families, and also for their larger communities and for the common good.

We are seeking one or two leaders of leaders to enhance and support the leadership acumen, attitudes, and actions of our affiliate school leaders and to engage and participate with an increasing number of non-affiliate schools and sector associations. These positions can each be 50 percent, part-time, positions or could be combined to create a single 100 percent full-time position.
