Langley Christian School is accepting expressions of interest from teachers who are looking to start a career, restart a career, or change things up a little and join an outstanding team of passionate educators. We are looking for a teacher to fill a short-term maternity leave vacancy 4 days per week in a grade one classroom. The ideal candidate is someone desiring to learn and grow in their skills, who has a love for primary aged children. We are not looking for perfection in a candidate, we are looking for passion and sense of purpose.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree with specialization in teachable subject areas
• Valid BC teaching certification or independent schools teaching certification
• Evidence of participation in a local Christian community
• Evidence of strength and/or training in primary literacy and numeracy
• Ability to work in a collaborative, inclusive work environment
• Evidence of courage, integrity, transparency and honesty in relationships
• Understanding of early childhood learning practices
• Ability to implement evidence-based, best-practice in instruction and assessment
• Willingness to coach athletics, or participate in fine arts or extra-curricular activities is an asset
