    SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (1.0) – Beginning July 2024

    Kootenay Christian Academy is a K to Grade 12 school with 260 students.

    Responsibilities & Duties

    The vice principal must always focus on improving instruction with the goals of Christian education and the Kootenay Christian Academy’s mission and vision statements. The vice principal works with the principal to ensure that the unity within the school community of Kootenay Christian Academy is maintained.

    In addition to some teaching responsibilities, the vice principal position includes, but is not limited to, the following administrative duties for which he/she will receive an administrative allowance:

    • supporting the principal in providing educational and spiritual leadership,
    • curriculum planning and instruction
    • staff assignments, supervision and evaluation
    • student discipline – oversee student conduct and disciplinary procedures
    • responsibilities and projects as assigned by the principal

     

    Qualifications

    • Experienced teacher with training and understanding of the meaning and value of Christian-based pedagogies and methodologies
    • University degree with a valid BC Professional Teaching Certificate
    • A Master’s Degree, Certificate or specific course work related to leadership will be an asset.

    • Competitive compensation and extended benefits package. Salary based on experience and qualifications: $70,000 to $90,000.
