Position Overview

Delta Christian School (DCS) seeks a compassionate and skilled Elementary School Counsellor (0.2 FTE) to support students’ emotional, social, and mental well-being. The successful candidate will provide counselling aligning with Christian values, fostering a safe and supportive environment. This part-time role is ideal for a professional passionate about student wellness in a close-knit Christian school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Run social skills groups to support peer interactions and communication.
• Provide individual and small-group counselling.
• Support students facing personal, social, and academic challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents on student well-being.
• Facilitate programs on social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and mental health.
• Offer crisis intervention and maintain confidential records.
• Provide faith-based guidance in line with the school’s values.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counselling
• Certification with a recognized counselling association.
• Experience working with children in a school or counselling setting.
• Strong understanding of child development and mental health strategies.
• Collaborating with the school’s educational staff and parents
• Ability to integrate Christian perspectives into counselling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to the vision and values of Delta Christian School.

Additional Information

• Fixed contract: September 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
• Part-time (0.2 FTE), one day per week or parts of two days.
• Comprehensive extended health and dental plan.
