English Language Learner Instructor

Abbotsford Christian School, located in the Fraser Valley, is a well-established interdenominational school of 1350 students on three campuses: Elementary (preschool – grade 4), Middle (5-8), and Secondary (9-12).

Abbotsford Christian School is accepting applications for an ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNER (ELL) INSTRUCTOR at the secondary campus for the 2024/25 school year. This position involves supporting international students in academic courses and teaching an after-school English Language Learning class. This position may be part-time or full-time and will commence September 1, 2024.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree
• TESL/TESOL certification/degree
• ELL teaching experience
• A clear understanding of Christian education

Characteristics of the successful applicant include:

• Able to work both independently and as a member of a team
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills
• Competence in supporting a wide range of ages (grades 5-12)
• Competence in supporting secondary curriculum (grades 9-12)
• Additional languages are an asset but not required

All employees must meet the requirements of the ACS Employment Contract and are asked to sign a community standards document, which is available upon request.

Salary range (depending on qualifications and experience): $30.06 – $35.32 (per hour).
