    Located in the sunny Okanagan Valley, Kelowna Christian School is the largest independent Christian school in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia, educating approximately 875 students from Preschool to Grade 12 on three campuses. We are looking for dynamic, collaborative BC-certified educators who demonstrate a commitment towards Christian Education, the ability to deliver curriculum content in an innovative manner that fully engages students in learning, and act as personal models to deepen students’ understanding of a Biblical worldview and relationship with God.

    Particular responsibilities for Music Coordinator include:

    • Plan and prepare lessons that support the BC music curriculum and KCS as well as Music Department policies
    • Engage students with creative instruction so as to inspire a love and appreciation of music
    • Teach Senior Band and Grade 9 Band
    • Teach Worship 10-12 as part of the Bible Curriculum
    • Supervise and coach/mentor High School students involved in the preparation of chapel music
    • Proactively communicate and proactively collaborate with administration, staff, and parents
    • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement, providing individualized feedback and written reports
    • Coordinate school performances for the community and KCS supporters
    • Plan experiential learning opportunities such as festival performances, music field trips, and band trips
    • Be involved in the school drama production if it is a musical
