    Interim Position – Leave Coverage for the 2025/26 School Year (1.0FTE)

    The Interim Vice Principal will serve the High School community, providing strong organizational leadership to ensure the smooth delivery of communications, calendars, schedules, programming, and information management. This role includes overseeing newsletters, social media, and all school-wide messaging, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and alignment with VCS’s mission and vision.

    In addition to administrative leadership, the Vice Principal provides educational support to high school teachers and collaborates with the Principal and Core Team to implement the school’s Strategic Plan. The Vice Principal will support faculty and student leadership initiatives, oversee logistics for school-wide programs, and engage in restorative student and parent support as needed.

    • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively manage administrative and leadership responsibilities.
    • Have experience working collaboratively with students, staff, and families in a relational setting.
    • Develop strong, healthy relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
    • Model a deep and abiding faith in Jesus while providing spiritual leadership within a high school setting.

    The Vice Principal will be expected to serve as a full-time employee (1.0 FTE) and fulfill a dual role that combines VP duties (0.5 FTE) and teaching/other school responsibilities (0.5 FTE).  The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple demands and priorities effectively while maintaining a high level of performance in all areas of responsibility.  In the event that a candidate is unable to fulfill the full-time requirement, the Principal may discuss potential options for adjusting the work schedule.     Salary Range

    $62,738 – $113,010 per school year (Dependent on education, qualifications, and experience)

     

    Qualifications & Certification

    • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field preferred.
    • Experience in student life, discipline, and educational leadership.
    • BC teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain it).
    • A minimum of five years of high school teaching/school experience is preferred.
    • Ongoing commitment to professional learning in Christian education.
    • Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and hold a valid BC Driver’s License.

     

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    1. Organizational Leadership & School Operations
    • Responsible for High School scheduling, calendars, events, and information management.
    • Coordinate and facilitate high school communications, including newsletters, social media updates, and school-wide messaging, by collaborating with the relevant staff responsible for these areas to ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication.
    • Maintain alignment with VCS policies, procedures, programs, and strategic goals.
    1. Educational Leadership & Staff Support
    • Support the Principal and Core Team in fostering a strong school culture and academic excellence.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to staff through professional development, coaching, and evaluation.
    • Support teacher success and growth through ongoing conversations, action plans, and performance reviews.
    • Oversee discipline procedures, ensuring fairness and alignment with restorative practices.
    1. Curriculum & Program Development
    • Collaborate with staff on curriculum development and instructional best practices.
    • Support faith-based programming, including chapels, advisory groups, and Christian studies.
    • Support school-wide initiatives that foster spiritual formation and student leadership.
    1. Student Life & Discipline
    • Implement and manage Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
    • Oversee student conduct policies, including attendance, uniform compliance, and technology use.
    • Work with students and families to resolve conflicts and provide restorative support.
    1. Community Relations & Engagement
    • Serve as a liaison between administration, staff, students, and parents.
    • Ensure open, effective communication within the high school community.
    • Contribute positively to the school’s Christ-centered culture.
    • Support and contribute to the vision of VCS as a united, cohesive, K-12 community
    1. Additional Leadership Responsibilities
    • Provide general leadership support as needed for the smooth operation of the high school.
