Humanities Teacher

John Knox Christian Secondary School is located in the heart of the lower mainland of British Columbia, in New Westminster, within view of the Fraser River. Our beautiful secondary campus was built in 2019 as an extension of our Elementary program with a long history of high-quality Christian education. We are in a period of growth and are looking to expand our teaching team at the secondary school. We have a full-time humanities position available; teaching English 9, Socials 9 and Law 12. The full-time annual salary for this position would range from $55,600 to $96,000, depending on qualifications and experience.  Applicant requirements:

• Committed Christian
• University humanities degree that relates to teachable subjects
• Passion and vision for transformational Christian Education
• BC Teaching Certificate
• Knowledge and practice with current BC Curriculum and 21st Century teaching practices

Preference will be given to applicants with:

• Experience teaching in a Christian school
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Relational approaches to teaching 
•  Ability to effectively and positively engage with students, parents, and staff with a diversity of perspectives
• Passion and experience coaching youth sports
