    Term: One-Year Interim (August 2025 – July 2026)

Pacific Christian School (PCS), a thriving preschool to grade 12 Christian school with over 800 students, invites applications for the position of Interim High School Principal. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a vibrant high school community during a one-year sabbatical leave and comes at an exciting time for PCS. No date has been set for the Head of School’s eventual retirement, and they have committed to continue in their role for the coming year; however, this pending transition is part of our thinking as we consider the school’s leadership needs—both for the immediate future and the longer term. Including this in the posting is intentional, as we hope to attract strong candidates who might be able to support the school not only during this interim period but possibly beyond. We also warmly welcome individuals who may not be interested in the potential for a Head of School position but who are eager to explore and grow in their leadership capacity during the incumbent’s absence, with the full support of our collaborative and Christ-centered school community.

    Who We Are

PCS has nurtured students in Christ-like living, critical thinking, and joyful service for 65 years. Rooted in our Guiding Educational Principles, we aim to provide a transformative, belonging-oriented, connected, and service-driven education that equips students to be faithful citizens in God’s world.

    The Role

As Interim High School Principal, you will:

    • Lead a dedicated team of educators in fostering an academically rigorous, Christ-centered education.
    • Ensure the continuation of key initiatives, supporting staff and students in their daily learning journey.
    • Work collaboratively with the Head of School, Elementary Principal, and senior leadership team to steward PCS’s mission and vision.
    • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the broader PCS community.
    • Uphold a school culture rooted in belonging while inspiring growth and excellence in faith, academics, and service.

    Qualifications and Competencies

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Be a committed follower of Jesus Christ, actively living out their faith in personal and professional life.
    • Have a deep understanding of and alignment with PCS’s mission, values, and guiding educational principles.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership experience, preferably in a K-12 Christian educational setting.
    • Possess a valid BC teaching certificate (or equivalent) and meet the requirements of the Teacher Regulation Branch of BC.
    • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Be collaborative, adaptable, and mission-focused, with the ability to integrate quickly into an established team.

    What We Offer

    • A supportive, Christ-centered school community.
    • An opportunity to gain valuable leadership experience in a dynamic educational environment.
    • A competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.
    • Salary is based on the person’s placement on our teacher grid x the SCSBC recommended multiplier, which will range from 1.35 to 1.4 (depending on experience).

    Application Process

Interested applicants are invited to submit the following:

    1. A cover letter describing your alignment with PCS’s mission and your vision for Christian education.
    2. A current résumé, including three references (one pastoral reference and two professional references).
    3. A statement of your personal faith journey and how it shapes your leadership.

Applications will be accepted until January 17th, 2025. Please email your application to Darren Lewis with the subject line: “Interim High School Principal Application.”

We thank all applicants for their interest in this role. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
