Kindergarten Classroom Teacher

Abbotsford Christian School, located in the Fraser Valley, is a well-established interdenominational school of 1200 students on three campuses: Elementary (preschool – grade 4), Middle (5-8), and Secondary (9-12).

Abbotsford Christian School is now accepting applications for a KINDERGARTEN CLASSROOM TEACHER for April 1–June 30 of the current (2024/25) school year. This full-time, fixed-term salaried position begins on April 1, 2025.

Specific qualifications include:

• BA degree in education (or equivalent)
• A valid BC Teaching Certificate
• A clear and compelling vision for a 21^st Century Christian education.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to the Christian faith.

The ideal applicant must:

• Demonstrate evidence of a deep and disciplined understanding of the Christian worldview.
• Possess the ability to confidently teach in an elementary classroom.
• Demonstrate a willingness to work in a team environment in a progressive and creative school.
• With the classroom colleagues, plan and maintain a learning environment that promotes the health, security, and well-being of children.
• Establish positive, collaborative working relationships with school staff, community partners, families, and children.
• Exhibit confident communication skills when engaging with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Expertise with implementing a structured literacy program.
• Experience with play-based learning pedagogies.

The salary range for this position is $56,000 – $94,000 annually and is dependent on an applicant’s qualifications and experiences.
