For the 2025/26 school year and beyond, Pacific Christian School is seeking a Learning Assistance Coordinator for Grades 8–12 who is passionate about walking alongside teenagers – helping to support their learning and nurture their growth. This role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs, collaborating with teachers to develop effective learning strategies, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment where every learner is valued and equipped to succeed.
The Learning Assistance Coordinator will:
- Possess current British Columbia teacher certification and additional relevant education and/or experience in the area of supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Work collaboratively, under the supervision of the Learning Support Services Coordinator.
- Consult with students, families, and staff to develop and implement Individualized Educational Plans for students with designated learning disabilities and Student Support Plans for students needing additional support.
- Support educators to implement universal and individualized strategies to enhance learning for students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate in the hiring, training, and scheduling of Educational Assistants.
- Demonstrate organizational and planning skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills with both adults and young people.
- Have a vibrant Christian faith and a desire to foster Christian faith formation in young people.
- Desire to become an active, contributing, collaborative member of a professional learning community
Remuneration is based on the PCS Salary Grid.
