    Seeking a full-time Principal commencing August 2024

    King’s Christian School (KCS) is a thriving independent school averaging 350 Pre-K to grade 12 students. KCS is located in Salmon Arm, BC, the heart of the beautiful Shuswap.

    September 2023 marks 46 years of God’s faithfulness to King’s Christian School, and we are excited for the opportunity to welcome a new principal who is passionate about quality Christ-centred education. KCS has flourished over the years thanks to God’s continued blessings and the dedication of committed families. We currently serve approximately 180 families representing over a dozen local churches.

    Our prayerful hope is to find a new leader who is eager to help us fulfil our vision:

    Job Requirements

    1. Spiritual Leadership
    a. Demonstrates a strong personal faith and is committed to living a spirit-filled life
    b. Gives wise, thoughtful, discerning advice
    c. Wisely manages an interdenominational school
    d. Demonstrates a desire for faith development and genuine worship within the school community

    2. Administrative Leadership
    a. Aligns with and is accountable to the Board, and contributes to board meetings
    b. Effectively communicates and is approachable with the Board, staff, and society
    c. Encourages and equips staff and facilitates team building
    d. Provides effective and constructive feedback
    e. Recognizes the value of maintaining Independent School Status

    3. Educational Leadership
    a. Encourages staff in lifelong learning and professional development
    b. Ensures that all students, regardless of their abilities, can flourish as learners
    c. Facilitates extra-curricular opportunities for students and staff to develop their gifts and abilities
    d. Is actively involved in staff meetings, professional development, assemblies, and chapels
    e. Gives continuous attention to curricular development

    4. Operational Leadership
    a. Helps initiate consideration of the future needs of the school
    b. Works with the Business Administrator, Board, and Finance Committee to ensure fiscal responsibility

    5. Community Leadership
    a. Build authentic relationships within the broader community
    b. Facilitates school involvement within the community
    c. Encourages and equips staff to provide community service opportunities for students to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their local community and beyond

     

    Education Requirements

    1. Professional Growth/Qualifications
    2. Pursues personal and professional development and demonstrates the ability to be a lifelong learner
    3. Valid British Columbia teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification
    4. Experienced in teaching and has demonstrated leadership qualities
    5. A master’s degree is encouraged and considered an asset
