    Kelowna Christian School is a PreK-12 school of approximately 850 students, nestled in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Our mission is to educate, equip, and inspire our school community to become disciples of Jesus who love and serve God and others.

    About the Position

    The Student Support Services Teacher (SSST) is a member of the K-12 Student Support Services (SSS) team. The SSST is responsible for collaborating with and supporting teachers to ensure they are best able to meet the needs of the diverse learners within the classroom setting. The SSST supports the implementation of differentiated instruction and support strategies for students both inside and outside of the classroom setting. The SSST is responsible for co-creating and supporting the implementation of the Individual Education Plans (IEPs) created for identified students. The SSST attends regularly scheduled meetings with the SSS team within a mentorship model to discuss K-12 related SSS initiatives and to find solutions to various SSS responsibilities. Duties include K-12 SSS responsibilities, EA management and leadership, yearly start-up tasks, IEP case load management, coordinating outside services and facilitating campus-specific School Base Team meetings.

    A Bachelor of Education as well as successful classroom experience is required. As well, education related to Inclusive Education is an asset. Experience working with students with diverse learning needs as well as students who have a replacement curriculum is favorable.

    Preferred candidates will also possess: Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills, proven strengths in the areas of fostering student learning, differentiation, collaboration, shared decision-making, parent, and teacher engagement, strong problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
