TEACHER — French as a Second Language (FSL) – Gr.K-10 (full-time; Temporary) (Effective immediately for 2021-2022 school year)

Campbell River Christian School is located in Campbell River, mid-Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The successful candidate will have qualifications/skills which include, but are not limited to:

  • Possession of a valid BC professional teaching certificate
  • Fluency in French — ability to read, write, and speak in French
  • Experience teaching FSL, Core French, or French Immersion to elementary and high school grades
  • Strong assessment practices
  • Excellent understanding of and experience with differentiated instruction
  • Ability to work with diverse students by using various teaching strategies
  • Evidence of a strong understanding and support of Christian education
  • Possession of excellent listening and communication skills
  • Ability to work closely with staff in a team approach
  • Demonstration of excellent teaching practices using current pedagogy
  • Ability to integrate a biblical worldview into all lessons
  • Demonstration of strong classroom management skills

CUSTODIAN – (Part-time: 4 hours/day [effective immediately])

The successful candidate will have qualifications/skills which include, but are not limited to:

  • Being a faithful follower of Jesus Christ
  • The ability to perform a wide variety of custodial duties
  • Working towards exceptional cleanliness and improvements for the school
  • Engaging in work requiring mechanical abilities
  • Maintaining HVA systems and plumbing
  • Following and maintaining knowledge of school policies and procedures
  • Being willing to take relevant training including, but not limited to, Health and Safety training
  • Being physically able to move up to 50 pounds/22.7kg
  • Having the strength and dexterity to operate custodial/maintenance tools and machinery, cleaning equipment, and other power tools
  • Being a great team player including working with another custodian and other staff members
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and timely manner with other custodial staff and immediate supervisor
  • Enjoying working in a school environment with children in K-12
  • Demonstration of a clear understanding of CRCS’s mission statement

VICE-PRINCIPAL (full-time) (approx. 0.6FTE Admin + 0.4FTE Teaching) (for 2022-2023)

We are seeking a full-time teaching Vice-Principal for the 2022-23 school year. (Starting date: Aug.15/22.) The requirements we seek include but are not limited to:

  • Possession of a valid BC professional teaching certificate
  • Completion of or active progress towards a Master’s Degree in the field of Educational Leadership or Curriculum
  • Evidence of a strong understanding of Christian education
  • Demonstration of current leadership skills and practices
  • Strong understanding of and experience with current Assessment practices
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (spoken & written)
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work autonomously; consultative leadership style; humble
  • Demonstration of ongoing professional learning and a willingness to continue to learn administrative and leadership roles and duties
  • Ability to set and complete goals with clarity and scaffolding for others
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent teaching practices which include current pedagogy with understanding of the BC Education plan
  • Understanding of and experience with Indigenous Learning practices
  • Evidence of a commitment to all students for individual success including differentiated learning practices and students with special learning needs
  • Demonstration of a clear understanding of CRCS’s mission statement
