Cyber Risks and Insurance in the School Context
Mike McCormack and the Westland Team
Many notable cyber events have been reported in the press over the past few years. However, most cybercrimes do not make the news and pose a threat to all organizations, large and small, including schools. Ransomware, social engineering, and phishing attacks frequently take advantage of human error to gain access to networks and extort money. However, accessing threat intelligence information and deploying essential risk management strategies can help mitigate cyber threats. Cyber insurance can also provide threat prevention services, incidence response support and indemnification of financial losses stemming from a cyber-attack. This workshop will review current trends, management strategies and insurance options to combat such risks.
