Employment:  Part-Time EA position

Compensation Range: $12,000 – $16,000 (dependent on education/certification and experience)

Position:  Educational Assistant (0.4 FTE)

Agassiz Christian School is a dynamic, well-established elementary school located in the upper Fraser Valley, nestled at the foot of beautiful Mount Cheam, with over 140 students registered from Preschool to Grade 7. We are a growing community with a dedicated staff who wish to see students discover, grow and thrive.

ACS is accepting applications for a part-time EA position, beginning in September 2026. This position will most likely involve working as an Education Assistant for a specific student with an Individualized Education Plan.

The successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a team
• Provide classroom support, working with small groups or with individual students
• Understand elementary curriculum and be able to modify and adapt work
• Build positive relationships with a variety of students
• Keep records of IEP goals, documenting student progress
• Maintain confidentiality
• Participate in school-based team meetings
• Assist in implementing a behaviour support plan when necessary
• Provide personal care and hygiene assistance when required
• Implement physiotherapy exercises when required

Experience working with students with non-verbal communication would be an asset, but is not required.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Education Assistant Certificate
• Experience and/or further training in supporting students with autism or FASD
• Experience working with non-verbal students
• Crisis intervention training
• Evidence of involvement in a local Christian faith community
• Strong professional references
• Ability to work in a collaborative, inclusive work environment

• A committed Christian
• Dedicated to Christian education.
• Willing to sign the Community Standards policy of the school.
